How to Vet a Peptide Supplier
Search for the best peptide supplier and every result on the first page is a supplier who concluded it was themselves. This page ranks nobody. It sets out what can actually be checked, in the order worth checking it — a framework you can run on any vendor in this market, including the one publishing it.
Why supplier rankings are the wrong tool
Not because the people writing them are dishonest, though some are. Because of who writes them and what they can actually observe.
Vendors ranking themselves
Most “best supplier” guides are published by suppliers, and they reach the conclusion you would expect. The format looks editorial and the incentive is not.
Affiliate placement
Where the ranker is not a vendor, position is often paid or commissioned. A list that changes when the commission changes is a rate card, not an assessment.
Rankings decay
Documentation practice, testing depth and fulfillment change. A ranking is a snapshot of conditions that have already moved, and nothing on the page tells you when it stopped being true.
Our position, stated plainly

So this page publishes the criteria instead. Run them on us. A framework you can apply is worth more than a verdict you have to trust, and it stays useful long after any ranking has gone stale.
Eighteen checks, in four tiers
Ordered so that failures surface early. If a supplier fails tier one there is limited value in working through tier four, because everything below depends on documentation you can actually tie to your vial.
Not a catalog PDF, not a representative sample. The batch number on the document must match the label on the vial.
A supplier who publishes documentation has designed for scrutiny. One who treats it as a support ticket has decided most buyers will not ask.
Wavelength, gradient and run time. A percentage without them cannot be reproduced or compared. See what HPLC purity measures.
With labeled axes, tied to the lot. It shows shoulders, tailing and baseline that an integrated number discards.
Observed mass against theoretical mass. Both printed, so you can check them yourself.
Purity and identity are different questions. A supplier reporting one has answered half.

Separate assays, frequently absent across the whole market. Their absence is common; their presence is meaningful.
In-house QC is legitimate and is not the same as third-party analysis. What matters is that the certificate says which it was.
An unnamed lab cannot be contacted and an unfindable one cannot be checked.
Analysis long after production, or a certificate several years old, describes the material’s past rather than its present.
If every product carries the same lot reference, the numbering is decorative and traceability does not exist.
The figures on a certificate describe material stored as stated. Stored otherwise, they describe something else.
Shipping within the country avoids border delays entirely and shortens transit, which matters for material integrity as well as for arrival.
Card and bank transfer require a processor willing to underwrite the business. Crypto-only often means no processor would.
A registered entity, a real address, a contactable person. Not a form and a first name.
Ask something specific and see whether the reply engages or deflects to marketing copy.
Four questions worth sending before you order
The checklist is thorough. This is the compressed version, and in practice it separates suppliers faster than any amount of reading, because it tests documentation practice rather than marketing.
“Can you send the certificate of analysis for the specific lot I would receive, rather than a representative one?” Tests whether lot-level traceability actually exists.
“What wavelength and gradient was the purity run at, and can I see the chromatogram?” Tests whether they hold the underlying data or only the summary figure.
“Was the testing done in-house or by an independent lab, and which one?” Tests disclosure. Either answer is acceptable; evasion is not.
“Do you have net peptide content for this batch?” Tests testing depth. “No” is a perfectly good answer; “that’s the same as purity” is not.
How to read the replies
You are not primarily grading the answers. You are grading whether the supplier understood the questions and answered the one you asked.
A supplier who says “we do not run amino acid analysis, so I cannot give you net peptide content” has told you something accurate and useful. One who replies that all their products are 99% pure has answered a different question, and that substitution is the finding.
Whether a supplier will still be trading
Several prominent suppliers in this market have ceased trading, lost payment processing or faced enforcement action over the past two years. Continuity has become part of the assessment in a way it was not previously.

Why this belongs on a technical page
A supplier who disappears takes the documentation with them. Certificates hosted on a site that goes offline cannot be produced later, batches cannot be traced, and questions cannot be answered.
Continuity is not a separate concern from documentation quality. It is what makes documentation durable.
Working through a new supplier
Roughly twenty minutes, and it filters most of the market before any money moves.
Read one certificate
Pick any product and open its documentation. If it is a generic PDF with no lot number, you have your answer and the remaining steps are unnecessary.
Check a second
Open another product’s certificate. Different lot numbers and different chromatograms mean the documentation is real. Identical ones mean it is a template.
Send the four questions
Judge the reply on whether it engaged with what you asked. Speed matters less than whether anyone technical read it.
Verify on arrival
Match the lot on the vial to the certificate. This is the step almost nobody performs, and the one that would catch the most.
Choosing a supplier
Why does this page not rank suppliers?
Because we are one. Any ranking we published would place us favorably, and you would have no way to separate an honest assessment from a sales page formatted as one. Publishing the criteria instead lets you apply them yourself, to us as well as anyone else. It is also more durable, since a framework stays valid after a specific ranking has gone out of date.
Is in-house testing a problem?
Not inherently. A manufacturer’s own QC laboratory usually tests every batch, which independent labs commissioned for selected batches do not. The issue is only whether the certificate discloses which it was. In-house testing that is presented as third-party is a disclosure failure; in-house testing that says so is ordinary practice.
How much should purity percentage weigh in the decision?
Less than most buyers assume. A figure without its method cannot be compared between suppliers, and a higher number can simply reflect a method that resolved less. Documentation practice is a better discriminator than the percentage, because it is harder to fake and easier to verify.
What if a supplier will not answer technical questions?
That is itself an answer. The four questions above are ordinary, and any supplier holding the underlying data can respond to all of them without difficulty. Deflecting to marketing copy usually indicates the data is not held rather than that it is being withheld.
Do reviews and ratings help?
They speak to fulfillment: did it arrive, was it packed properly, did support reply. They do not speak to what is in the vial, because almost no reviewer runs an assay. Treat ratings as evidence about the ordering experience and documentation as evidence about the material.
Does a low price indicate a quality problem?
Not on its own. Price reflects synthesis scale, purification effort, testing depth and margin, and suppliers differ on all four. What price cannot tell you is which of those was reduced. That is what the documentation is for, and it is the reason to read it rather than infer from cost.
