Acetic Acid Reconstitution Solution (10 mL)

A formulated dilute acetic acid solution used as a reconstitution solvent for lyophilized peptides that dissolve poorly in neutral aqueous buffer. Peptides carrying a net positive charge at acidic pH — and those with a strong tendency to aggregate through hydrophobic or beta-sheet interactions — frequently require a mildly acidic solvent to achieve a clear, fully dissolved working solution.

Standard laboratory practice is to solubilise the peptide in the minimum volume of acidic solvent required, then dilute into the intended buffer system. This solution is supplied for that preparatory step and is intended for laboratory reconstitution work alongside bacteriostatic water.
